FAQ's - Planning Ahead

Are lockers available?

No. Tweetsie Railroad does not have lockers.

Are pets allowed in the park?

Yes. Pets must remain on a leash and attended at all times. Pets are not allowed on rides or in restaurants (except service animals). We strongly discourage guests from taking any pet aboard the train, since the noise can be disturbing to animals. Have a member of your party look after your pet while you ride the train or the rides. Any pet causing any disturbance or concern to any other guest will be asked to move to another area of Tweetsie Railroad or be taken off Tweetsie Railroad property.

Do you have kennels for my pet?

No. Tweetsie Railroad does not have kennels.

Do you have ATM machines in the park?

Yes. ATM machines are located in the General Store, the Arcade, and Miner's Diner.

Do you have strollers to rent?

Yes. A stroller, double stroller, wagon, or wheelchair can be rented for $5 per day.

Is there a special parking lot for my RV?

A special, easily-accessible section for RV parking is provided. Tweetsie Railroad does not allow overnight RV parking or camping, but there are several campgrounds located nearby. Visit Area Info & Lodging for more information.

What are the clothing/dress guidelines at Tweetsie Railroad?

All guests must wear attire suitable for a family park. Shoes and shirts must be worn at all times. Bathing suits must be sufficiently covered. Profanity, distasteful or suggestive material on clothing is prohibited. Tweetsie reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone not properly attired.

What if I lose something at Tweetsie Railroad?

Contact the Lost and Found Department at Tweetsie Railroad. Lost and Found is located in the First Aid Station. If you have already left the park, you may call 800-526-5740 or 828-264-9061.

What is the Entertainment Schedule for a specific date?

Our regular Entertainment Schedule is distributed with the Park Guide when you enter the park.

What is the smoking policy at Tweetsie Railroad?

Guests are requested to use the designated Smoking Areas located throughout the park.

When is Tweetsie Railroad open and what are the hours of operation?

Tweetsie will be open for our 2008 Season from May 2 through November 2. See Park Schedule & Prices for details.

Where can I get a map of Tweetsie Railroad?

Maps are available at the main entrance of the park. A map is also available online at Tweetsie Map & Guest Guide.

Where can I stay in the area when I visit Tweetsie Railroad?

There are over 3,000 overnight accommodations and campsites available in the nearby towns of Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Beech Mountain, Jefferson, West Jefferson, Spruce Pine, Wilkesboro, and North Wilkesboro. See Area Info & Lodging for more information.
