Tweetsie Railroad is closed due to state restrictions.
Tweetsie Railroad has received notification from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services that we are not permitted to run the train. Thus, we have no choice but to close the park and cancel upcoming special events, including K-9s in Flight, Railroad Heritage Weekend, and Ghost Train. When parks like ours are cleared to open in North Carolina, we will reevaluate the possibility of welcoming guests back to Tweetsie Railroad and hosting Tweetsie Christmas.
The train will run again at Tweetsie Railroad!
Beginning Friday, July 17, Tweetsie Railroad will open with limited weekend operations, Friday – Sunday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Guests will be able to enjoy Main Street, Junction stores, and the Wild West Train ride aboard the park’s historic steam engine.
During this phase of operation, the park will be limiting capacity. Therefore, all Guests need to pre-purchase tickets for a specific date and train ride time.
Tickets have been reduced to$10 for an Adult and $7 for a Child (age 3-12). Children 2 and under will remain free.
Golden Rail Season Pass Holders will have the first chance to reserve a daily admission and train ride ticket for the July 17-19 opening weekend Monday through Thursday, July 13-16. Then beginning on Friday, July 17, the general public will be able to purchase any remaining tickets for the weekend by calling the Ticket Office 877-893-3874.

We are currently working on an Opening Plan for Tweetsie Railroad. When we open the park, you should expect changes in the ways in which we operate and forsee modifications to hours and dates. Therefore, at this time, we are announcing the cancellation of our July 4th Fireworks and Cool Summer Nights.
