Tweetsie Railroad transforms from the Wild West into a haunted park with Halloween thrills and chills for all ages. The highlight of each evening is a nighttime ride on the Ghost Train, other spooky attractions include the Haunted House and the Freaky Forest. Younger ghouls will enjoy dressing up in their Halloween costumes, trick-or-treating on Main Street, watching the Spooktacular Palace Show, and taking in the amusement rides in the Creepy Carnival.
A limited number of guests are admitted nightly; advance tickets are strongly recommended.
Hop aboard the Ghost Train and join engineer Casey Bones for a journey into the dark haunts and hallows at Tweetsie Railroad. Watch out for ghouls and unexpected surprises around every corner. Recommended for ages 8 and older.
An admission ticket includes all the nighttime events in the park including one ride on the Ghost Train®, Trick-or-Treating for the kids, Haunted House, Tweetsie Palace Spooktacular, the rides in the Creepy Carnival, and the attractions in "The Boneyard” section, featuring the Black Hole, and the “Freaky Forest."
This depends on the child. Some children are scared just because of the darkness. There are loud explosions on the Ghost Train ride. We don’t recommend the Haunted House, the Freaky Forest, or the Ghost Train for children under age 8.

The Ghost Train will be held regardless of the weather. Tickets may be refunded or exchanged at least 48 hours prior to the event for another night as long as the date on your ticket has not expired and the night you want is still available. Boone and Blowing Rock offer a variety of lodging options. October is a very busy time in the mountains and we recommend that you make reservations in advance.
