Tweetsie Railroad Transforms into a Wild West Christmas Town for the Holidays
Tweetsie Christmas® returns November 28 – December 30, 2025
BLOWING ROCK, N.C. - November 6, 2025. This holiday season, Tweetsie Railroad once again transforms into a Wild West Christmas town, bringing lights, laughter, and the warmth of the holidays to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Tweetsie Christmas runs Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from November 28 through December 30, with additional open dates on December 22, 23, 29, and 30.
Visitors are invited to step into a festive world where the entire park glows with thousands of Christmas lights, garland, and cheerful decorations, creating the feeling of walking through a storybook holiday town.
The highlight of every visit is the 3-mile nighttime train ride aboard a historic steam locomotive, where guests can enjoy the sights and sounds of the season. Families sing along to traditional Christmas carols as the open-air cars wind through brilliant light displays, bringing joy to every generation.
Along with the train ride, Tweetsie Christmas offers an evening filled with family-friendly activities and festive treats:
- Meet Santa Claus in his whimsical Gingerbread House, surrounded by giant candies and colorful holiday décor.
- Enjoy a live Christmas show featuring music, dance, and plenty of holiday spirit.
- Four amusement rides, including two event exclusives: the Jingle Bell Jets (perfect for toddlers and younger children) and Little Drummer Boy, a tea-cup style ride for all ages.
- Experience The Blizzard, a walk-through attraction that simulates the feeling of strolling through a snowstorm with black lights and a moving tunnel.
- Warm up with hot chocolate, homemade fudge, fresh candies, and roast s’mores by the outdoor fire pit.

Tweetsie Railroad Announces Promotion of Stephanie Robinett to General Manager
Blowing Rock, N.C., November 4, 2025, Tweetsie Railroad has announced the promotion of Stephanie Robinett to General Manager, recognizing her leadership, professionalism, and extensive experience in human resources and operations management.
Robinett joined Tweetsie Railroad in June 2022 as Human Resources Director, quickly becoming an integral part of the leadership team. With more than 25 years of administrative and management experience, she brings a strong background in staff development, safety, and organizational operations. In her new role, she will oversee park operations and guest experience, helping ensure that Tweetsie Railroad continues to deliver exceptional family-friendly entertainment and service.
“We are excited to have Stephanie step into the General Manager role,” said Chris Robbins, President of Tweetsie Railroad. “Her professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to lead with both empathy and efficiency make her the perfect choice to guide our team and operations.”

Her career includes a decade as Assistant General Manager for an international retail company, followed by roles as IT Administrator for a North Carolina-based home furnishings company and Human Resources Manager for a 200-employee contract manufacturer.
Outside of work, Robinett enjoys spending time with her blended family and volunteering for her children’s sports and school activities. She is an avid reader and lover of the outdoors; she brings the same passion and energy to her professional life.

Grammy-Winning Riders In The Sky Bring Western Music and Comedy to Tweetsie Railroad
Blowing Rock, N.C. July 29, 2025, Riders In The Sky, the world-famous ambassadors of Western music and comedy, will take the stage at Tweetsie Railroad for a limited-time engagement on August 16 & 17.
With more than four decades of performing, this iconic quartet blends classic cowboy tunes, award-winning harmonies, and family-friendly humor in a show that’s truly unforgettable. In addition to entertaining audiences across the globe, Riders In The Sky perform regularly at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, carrying on the tradition of Western music for new generations. Fans may also recognize them from Toy Story 2, where they brought “Woody’s Roundup” to life.

Riders In the Sky is an American Western music and comedy group that began performing in 1977. The band has released more than 40 albums, starred in a single-season self-titled television series on CBS, wrote and starred in an NPR syndicated radio drama, Riders Radio Theater, and appeared in television series and films. Their family-friendly style appeals to children and adults alike. They have won two Grammy Awards and have written and performed music for major motion pictures, including "Woody's Roundup" from Toy Story 2.

K-9s In Flight Frisbee and Dock Diving Show Runs July 19–21 and July 24–27, 2025
Blowing Rock, N.C. July 8, 2025, This July, Tweetsie Railroad invites guests to experience the excitement of K-9s In Flight, an incredible Frisbee and dock diving show featuring rescued dogs performing high-flying tricks and athletic feats. The show runs July 19–21 and July 24–27, 2025, with performances daily at 11 AM, 1 PM, and 3 PM, plus a bonus 5 PM show on Saturdays. (Tweetsie Railroad will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.)
These amazing dogs aren’t just skilled performers—they’re inspiring stories of resilience. Each has been rescued or adopted, and the team proudly embraces their motto: “homeless to high flying.”
“This show is always a crowd favorite,” said Chris Robbins, President of Tweetsie Railroad. “It’s amazing to see what these dogs can do, and even more inspiring to know the journey they’ve taken to get here.”

Blowing Rock, NC, June 16, 2025, Celebrate the spirit of Independence Day and a cherished local tradition as Tweetsie Railroad marks its birthday on Friday, July 4, 2025, with the annual July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza. Since opening on July 4, 1957, Tweetsie Railroad has welcomed generations of guests to experience Wild West adventure in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
This year’s event offers a full day of rides, shows, and attractions, capped off by one of the High Country’s most beloved fireworks displays. The park will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and all guests must exit the park by 9:00 p.m. before the fireworks show, which begins at 9:30 p.m. The final train ride departs at 8:30 p.m.
“July 4th is not only a day to celebrate our nation’s independence, it’s also a celebration of Tweetsie Railroad’s history,” said Chris Robbins, President of Tweetsie Railroad. “For 68 years, families and friends have come together here to make memories that last generations.”
