Letterland is coming to Tweetsie Railroad May 14 – 16 & 21 – 23, 2025!

From Abbie Apple to Zig Zag Zebra, children have the opportunity to meet and interact with the whole Letterland alphabet.

Live Letterland Shows

See your favorite characters come to life in three Letterland-themed shows performed throughout the day on stage in the Tweetsie Place and Miner's Mountain Theater.

Letterland-themed Train Ride

Join Apron Man, Uppy Umbrella, Harry Hat Man, Firefighter Fred and Red Robot for a 20-minute train ride behind one of Tweetsie Railroad's historic steam locomotives.

Letterland is a unique, phonics-based approach to teaching reading, writing and spelling to 3-8-year-olds. The Letterland characters transform plain black letter shapes into child-friendly pictograms and they all live in an imaginary place called "Letterland."

Yes, when submitting your initial request, include all additional family members in your group total. (While we expect your initial number to change, it is very important to estimate as close as possible as this number is used to limit capacity for each day). Anyone not included in this initial total can still enter the park but will not be guaranteed space on the train ride.

Parking is free at Tweetsie Railroad.

Yes. Buses and vans may drive up to the upper parking lot to unload passengers.

Yes. A designated bus parking area is located in the lower parking lot.

No outside food deliveries are allowed. Lunches may be prepared and provided by each individual group or from the school cafeteria.

After unloading your bus in the upper parking lot, your bus should proceed to the lower parking lot to be met by our staff whom will unload and transport your food to your eating venue.

Yes. A label will be emailed prior to your visit. Please print out as many as needed to identify all of your food, coolers, etc.

We encourage you to obtain a current weather report prior to your visit so you can dress appropriately. If you need to reschedule your group due to weather, please call 800-526-5740 ext. 114 or email [email protected].

Rain showers can be brief. If it rains, try visiting our indoor attractions such as the Letterland themed shows in the Tweetsie Palace and Miner's Mountain Theater, or the Arcade. If our rides have to be shut down for the remainder of the day due to rain or thunderstorms, you can get a rain check for your group so you can return to Tweetsie Railroad another day during the current season. Rain checks are not valid for Day Out With Thomas™, Ghost Train®, or Tweetsie Christmas.
