Frequently Asked Questions

May School Day is a day in May when the park is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., specifically for school groups to enjoy a day at Tweetsie Railroad with a variety of educational opportunities from the train ride to the Can-can Show!

Group leaders may request a reservation by calling 877-893-3874 ext 114 or by filling out the online form. School groups are scheduled on a first come first serve basis.

Yes, when submitting your initial request, include all additional family members in your group total. (While we expect your initial number to change, it is very important to estimate as close as possible as this number is used to limit capacity for each day). Anyone not included in this initial total can still enter the park but will not be guaranteed space on the train ride.

No deposit is needed, full payment, in one lump sum, is due upon your arrival at the park. The park accepts American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Discover; business checks and cash. *Any individuals arriving and paying separately from the group will not be eligible for the discounted group rate and will be charged regular admission rates.*

Call 877-893-3874 ext 114 or email [email protected] with any changes to reservations and box lunches at least one week in advance.

Season Pass Holders may bring a photocopy of their pass to be included with your check-in sheet for free admission.

Parking is free at Tweetsie Railroad. Buses and vans may drive up to the upper parking lot to drop off your group and then they will be directed to a designated bus parking area located in the lower parking lot.

Your group has a variety of options for meals and snacks at Tweetsie Railroad. You can purchase a meal from one of our many food service venues, pre-order one of our boxed lunch options (for groups of 15 or more), or bring your own. No outside food deliveries are allowed. Lunches may be prepared and provided by each individual group or from the school cafeteria.

Once your bus/van has parked in the designated parking area (lower lot) one of our staff will meet the driver, collect the lunches, and transport them to the lunch area. All of your boxes and coolers must be appropriately labeled with your group name, contact and phone number. Any individuals arriving separately should place their lunches in the coolers/boxes before they are picked up or they can carry them into the park to be placed in the designated area labeled with your group's name. *This service is only provided during May School Day and Letterland Days, if your school group visits the park during other times of the year, you will be responsible for carrying your lunches into the park.*
